I first obtained my real estate license in 1982. I started just before the interest rates hit 15%, and they went UP from there. With the help of a great title agent I designed a program to take mobile homes in on trade and began a journey selling and building a house every other month for five years. It was great moving people from mobile homes to newly constructed custom built homes. I then placed the mobile homes into service as a, “Savings account you can live in…” a rent to own program that built equity in the mobile home to be traded in for a newly built custom home.
Many people I worked with had been told by others that there was, “No way for them buy at this time”. Some utilized my mobile home program, others did not. Most everyone I dealt with was able to buy their first home.
I started my college education at Washington State University, where my grandfather Joseph Hansen and his brother, my great uncle Sam Hansen played football on the 1931 Rose Bowl team. During this time I explored North Idaho and found it to be ‘the place’ I would most like to live. I later confirmed the idea as I traveled the country during my military time and found no place I would rather be than North Idaho. After 35 years in Boise, I was able, with some great help from my wife Teresa, to move back to North Idaho. I found 18 acres of ground with an incredible view of the Clearwater River (after looking for 15 months) and I am now living the North Idaho dream.
After a variety of business ventures, positions as director, and several times in and out of the real estate industry, (including a time as a Realtor and mortgage broker) I am once again ready to help people realize their dreams and goals in regard to real estate ownership.
United Country Real Estate has incredible tools for me to be able to serve my clients well. My background in income property and real estate finance are an incredible combination with those tools. Give me an hour and tell me your goals. Let’s build your real estate portfolio.
I want to introduce myself. I am a real Idaho native, born here and raised here in a farm family. Not only do I understand small town and rural life with its satisfactions and hard hitting challenges, but I have spent the greater part of my professional career involved in land development, residential construction, and real estate marketing. I have over 30 years working closely with Idaho home and land owners. This experience has provided me with expertise in residential and land valuation, marketing, buyer networks and sales strategies which I believe can be extremely valuable to you when considering selling or buying property.
Born and raised in rural Eastern Oregon, Misty has always had a deep affinity for the outdoors. Her journey first led her to Idaho County in 1996, where she spent her initial years as a horseback and whitewater rafting guide. The passion for her surroundings in Idaho County was evident as she led adventurers through the mesmerizing landscapes, earning herself a reputation as a knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide.
In 1998, Johnson started a new chapter in her professional life when she joined US Bank. Beginning her career as a teller, she showed her mettle, working her way up to a loan officer's role before becoming a branch manager. Her near 15 year tenure, marked by a steadfast commitment to excellence, earned her much respect within the industry.
In 2001 she married a fifth-generation Idaho County rancher. Together, they now own farm ground and a ranch with a small cattle feedlot. Her experience in ranching, coupled with her keen interest in Idaho's natural beauty and potential, has primed her for her next venture in real estate.
In her free time, Misty revels in an array of outdoor activities, from gardening to horseback riding, whitewater rafting, and discovering Idaho's hidden gems. Misty and her husband are the proud parents of two children, Dean Johnson, a student athlete playing football for College of Idaho, and Molly Johnson, a student athlete, on the college rodeo team at University Of Western Montana.
Today, Misty is leveraging her years of experience and intimate knowledge of Idaho County to help others find their dream homes. With her diverse background, deep understanding of the region, and a passion for service, Misty is poised to make a significant impact in Idaho's real estate sector.
"I am excited to use my skills and knowledge to guide people in their real estate journeys," said Johnson. "My love for this land and community motivates me to help others make Idaho County their home, just as I did all those years ago. I love where I live."
As she steps into this new phase of her career, Misty Johnson is a testament to the power of resilience, a deep connection to one's roots, and the willingness to embark on new adventures.
My name is Shanda Norton and I was born and raised in Colorado. I married my High School sweetheart and we just celebrated our 35th wedding anniversary! Where does the time go?? My husband was in Law Enforcement for 30 years and has recently retired. We have raised 2 beautiful daughters that are the lights of our life and we now have 2 beautiful Grandsons that keep us on our toes! We owned and operated a small farm where we raised horses, cattle and butcher hogs in Colorado. It was a lot of fun and taught our children responsibility and how to care for and nurture animals. I was a licensed Realtor in Colorado for many years and when my husband retired from law enforcement we decided to move to Idaho. We chose to live in Orofino because it’s so beautiful here! We were looking for land for our horses and something within minutes of all the recreational activies we love to do. Orofino checked all our boxes and we couldn't be happier with our decision to move here. With the Dworshak Reservoir, Clearwater River, and Snake River all within a few minutes of our home we are able to be doing the things we love and not have to travel to do so. I attended the North Idaho Real Estate Academy in Coeur d’Alene Idaho and joined the United Country Steelhead Realty team. I chose to work with United Country because I love the people I work with and the community we live in. United Country has marketing tools that I believe every seller should demand, but no other brokerages were offering. Interactive mapping system, property videos, virtual tours, aerial photography and national advertising, to name a few. My favorite part of being a Realtor is helping people find their dream property. Whether you are looking to purchase or sell your property, I would love to help you make YOUR dreams come true. Being able to continue my career in Real Estate after moving to Idaho was an easy decision for me. I feel it is important in life to find a job that you love to do, and every day is a vacation here! I love the outdoors and spending time with my family. Hunting, camping, paddle boarding, boating, riding horses, and ATV’ing are some of the outdoor activities I like to do. Being able to work within a few minutes of my home and being surrounded by a recreational area are what my dreams were made of and I would love to help other families find their dream too. Every day I wake up and look outside and think, I must still be dreaming! LIVE WHERE YOU LOVE!!!

Musickhas over 18 years of experience in the real estate business and a lifetime of experience as an auctioneer growing up in the family business. Earl specializes in Bare Land, Recreational Land, Commercial Properties, and Farms and Ranches. Earl has been a broker-owner of United Country Musick & Sons Auction & Real Estate Services( Grangeville Idaho) and United Country Steelhead Realty (Orofino, Coeur d'Alene, Bonners Ferry, and Kamiah, Idaho) for over 8 years. He bought the family real estate business in 2016, making it a successful and well-respected company in Idaho.
Some interesting facts about Earl:
After graduating from Meridian High School in 1998, Earl attended the World Wide College of Auctioneering in Mason City, Iowa. He started his career working in Eagle, Idaho as a salesman and auctioneer for Idaho’s largest public auto auction while simultaneously performing contract auctioneering for a number of heavy equipment auction companies.
In 2006 Earl earned the prestigious title of IAPA Bid Calling Champion Auctioneer for the entire state of Idaho while also graduating from the Certified Auction Institute at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana.
After obtaining his real estate salesman license (and later his broker's license) Earl combined his two passions and began conducting real estate auctions both online and live. His experiences with real estate auctions led him to develop an entirely new and successful concept for conducting online personal property auctions. He debuted his ground-breaking idea in Nampa, Idaho where his auction house flourished and promptly outgrew its offices in two months. In the next six months, several auction companies followed Earl’s lead all over the Treasure Valley. Musick Auction remained at the top of the industry even after being sold.
Earl moved back home to North Central Idaho – Grangeville, Idaho (his hometown) to pursue a recreational lifestyle as well as real estate. Earl’s expertise lies in recreational properties for sale in North Central Idaho, Idaho hunting land for sale, and Idaho ranches and farms for sale. His concentration is in North Central Idaho but he serves the entire state and is qualified and happy to meet your needs as a buyer’s broker or listing broker for any and all Idaho real estate. In 2010 Earl teamed up with Potlatch Land to offer his buyers the best recreation properties available in North Central Idaho. In addition, teaming up with Realtree United Country Hunting Properties has given us the opportunity to highlight recreation/Hunting properties in North Central Idaho.
Earl has a passion for the outdoors, specifically fishing for Steelhead or Chinook Salmon on the Snake River, Salmon River, and Clearwater River (all of which are within an hour from Grangeville!) In Earl's middle-life crisis, he discovered white water rafting on the Salmon river. Once a year he and his small group of old river guide friends take a trip down the Main Salmon River. Earl should have been a river guide in his younger years as he has really taken to the river rat life in the summer. During football season you’ll find Earl at the Kibbie Dome in Moscow, Idaho rooting on the Idaho Vandals at the University of Idaho’s campus. Go Vandals!
